Bellevue Profile
Founded in 1869, Bellevue, Washington is an exciting, growing city located just across from Seattle on the other side of picturesque Lake Washington. The city of around 115,000 people makes it the fifth largest in the state. Located near the small, yet stratospherically wealthy districts that make up the “Gold Coast,” home to Bill Gates and other technology business moguls, it is also one of the wealthier communities in the state of Washington. As such, Bellevue boasts one of the largest shopping centers in the region, the famous Bellevue Square, where you’ll find a great assortment of tantalizing restaurants and upscale shops. New additions to the square like “The Lodge,” One Lincoln Tower, and the Bravern have recently added even more choices to residents and visitors alike, such as the exclusive, always fashionable Neiman Marcus, the store’s first ever in the Pacific Northwest. Once you’ve had your fill of great food and shopping, you might want to catch a show at the new Performing Arts Center or take a stroll through the lovely Bellevue Botanical Gardens. For handmade specialties, Bellevue has hosted the annual Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair every July for over 50 years. You can also pay a visit to the Bellevue Arts Museum or to the biennial Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition, where thousands gather to see the huge display of three-dimensional art. Another popular spot is the Rosalie Whyel Museum of Doll Art, which houses over a thousand dolls, making it one of the largest doll collections in the world. And for kids from tots to 12, nothing beats the KidsQuest Children’s Museum, comprising 10,000 square feet of play and discovery areas, educational activities, and classroom space. Other attractions include the famous Washington and Evergreen Point floating bridges. So come to Bellevue, and experience the Great Northwest firsthand.Current Temperature:
